adding and electronic pump to a '75 carb
« on: May 29, 2003, 12:43:00 PM »
I am wanting to put an eletric fuel pump on my truck.  I was wondering how I plan this out. Do I need a return line to the tank?  Where do I put the regulator?  I was thinking of puting a T fitting in the line to the carb for the regulator and runing a line from it to the tank.

What do you think?

I run electrics in both my trucks. A holley red in one, carter in the other. Both are pre-set for 7.5psi, which is perfect for a holley and dosne't require a regulator. I still use one though :)  On my 79 with a carter it likes 5psi so I needed the regulator for that. No return line is needed. I just installed the pump by the tank, and hooked it up to the stock fuel lines on the truck. The regulator I installed on the fender, passanger side.

Low PSI pumps do not require a regulator.

just get a low pressure pump and mount it near the trank, with a oil pressure switch
