DOOR PANEL STRAP cover question
« on: October 06, 2019, 08:54:46 PM »
im sure we have all had the classic problem with the door panel strap Covers. there are 2 on each side and most people have to order them from   truck ahahha.i did.

so mine keep breaking off on one side .

QUESTION

what glue or epoxy or what should i use to fix this?  i tried super glue and it broke off after a few weeks and the winter cold.

my question is. what is the best glue to use? i need something strong that maybe gives a little when yanked on instead of cracking like the hard super glue.

i also have a similar problem with the side panel that keeps peeling. but if i glue it down it looks fine. but after a few weeks my cheap gorilla super glue is useless..

any recommendations on best glue to use on these trucks.. ??

Short of new ones, I have seen a add on to super glue in the form of a white or black powder that you pour into place and then drip in the super glue.

Bought some at auto show, and man o man, I used it to rebuild the plastic window frame of a camper door.

Unbelievably strong.

If they sell it, buy the accelerator too. Goes down first and preps the surface for max hold.

I have it at my office, or I would post their website.

yea. no i have already bought new ones.. and they are still intact just one of the clips on one side is chipped off. i just need some strong glue. epoxy.

im asking what glue works best for the plastic on plastic /steel

i purchased gorilla xtra strong super glue.. and it was shoot/garbage. the first cold winter day that i slammed the door the clip snapped off.  the excess glue cracked off easily around edges ..so cheap.
