Unless you're running a high horsepower 350 or going to do some heavy duty off-roading, you don't need to spend big bucks on a lot of upgrades.  With quality overhaul parts, you can have a durable unit that will give dependable service for many miles.  It's more important to find someone who is reputable to do the work and let them make recommendations on what upgrades you need based on your intended use for your vehicle.  Ask around in your car community in your area.  If someone has had a good experience with a rebuilder, they will likely be glad to recommend him.  You can also save a ton by handing your transmission over to your rebuilder, rather than handing him your keys.  I don't know how much work you plan on doing yourself, but even if you don't feel up to rebuilding your own transmission, removing it is do-able as a DIY project for many people.  Good luck!

There is a local dismantler that I have sourced many parts from, including a TH400. Think I paid him 350.00 4 years ago.

He ships also.

Message me if you want his contact info.
