I recently bought a 1978 K10 shortbed stepside. It has been on the local fire department fleet since it was new so it only has 35,000 miles. I prefer things stock and original, but, this truck is a bit too "plane Jane" for me; custom deluxe, no options, painted steel wheels etc.
I do not plan on any modifications except I want to put the Sport Appearance Package on it that was available in 1978. The colors I have in mind is the one shown in the factory brochure, white with red inserts.
I don't recall ever seeing a Sport" in person. What I need to know is, are the inserts painted on or are they decals. The insert is also "bordered" by an alternative stripe. I'm sure that is a decal, as well as the triple stripes that go down each side of the hood. Are these stripes available from anyone? I appreciate anyones help. Thanks, Rick Veard Lorain, Ohio

Don't know the answer to your question but I wanted to welcome you seeing this is your first post. Please post up pictures, it is not often we get to see a real survivor with 35K on the clock.
