Title: LS 5.3 Steamport
Post by: ssblu502 on December 20, 2017, 02:02:02 PM
I am currently in the process of a 5.3 Swap in my 85 C10. I am going to use the PCM and stock intake and fuel rails, etc. I am also going to keep my TH350 and use the spacer from summit. The question I have is can I use my stock radiator and just tap the water pump or is it best to use a fitting from www.jagsthatrun.com

No expert on this subject but I’m also in the middle of an LS swap and from what I have found it’s six to one half dozen. Tapped to the water pump looks cleaner and that’s what I’m doing, I don’t think there is any benefit to running it to the radiator.

I ran it to the rad using a fitting I ordered online somewhere to match the steam line to the rad  port

Thank you both, I went ahead and ordered the steam vent tee from jags that run and it was $33. I will take a picture once installed but it does look cleaner and cheaper to tap the water pump.
