1973 P10 step van LS1 swap
« on: January 26, 2016, 12:15:10 PM »
I have a beer truck project, rebuilding from the ground up. I removed the worn out 250 inline 6 with hopes of doing a 5.3 vortec swap.

This is for a 1973 P10 with a Grumman Olson Kurbmaster JR body.  Destined to become a beer truck for events.

Any help is appreciated!

How much does it weigh? A big block might be a better choice. What transmission are you going to use?

How do you get the engine out of that thing? Looks like there's plenty of room in there. I like the though of a big block but if that s6 could move it there's no way a 5.3 couldn't do the same and maybe be a lot little better on gas.

Buddy of mine has 1 he uses to deliver potato chips in. I know they are aluminum body, would guess around 3000lb. Pretty stout.
