The rear A/C on my Suburban works fine, but the fan motor housing is cracked and the fan rubs badly even on low. I've looked and looked, but can't find a source online for a replacement. I tried to pop rivet it back together and it held for a little while but then the fan started rubbing again. It's cracked and broken where the bolts hold the upper and lower assemblies together. I guess at one time someone working on the Suburban was rough with it. Any ideas on where I could find one? I guess if nothing else I can start looking in junkyards.

If you have no luck on line, I would try a pick-n-pull type first, they will be cheaper than say a full on recycle yard.

Thanks, that's a good idea. I'll probably start hunting this weekend. It's getting hot quick here in Texas and that rear A/C really helps out when it's working.
P.S. Does anyone know how the upper assembly is bolted to the ceiling of the cab? I never took it that far apart.

Should be bolted into the roof ribs.

Curious to know, how'd this all turn out? I'm currently refurbishing/fiberglassing the new housing and trim piece for the rear AC and have ALL the components to make it work (all removed by myself).

Decided to plastic weld my cracks and vinyl wrap it, looks el primo

Mine is not cracked but does rub. Could this just be because the inside housing has rattled lose and needs to be tightened up?
