A little bit of information, the pipe I bought is 304, the mufflers are made from 409. 400 grade stainless is high in carbon, a magnet will stick to it. You need a rod 18 percent chromium, 8 percent nickel. Dissimilar welds require the correct filler metal. In this situation inconel 82 would work 90 percent of the time on Dissimilar welds. I'm all out of that but the next option is 309L. That procedure is good up 500 degrees. Monell is another option but I think***(not for sure) that is for cold process, like food plants. In my case I think I will be fine. But for you turbo guys doing your research is important.

I have been using 1/16 308 wire on all the 304 fittings. Running anywhere around 40-60 amps. I didnt have any 1/16 309 and used 3/32 on the mufflers. Seamed to lay down alot better than the 1/16 I been using. I'll be using 3/32 for the rest.

Now back to the fuel & brake lines. 02 bungs should be here tomorrow. Looking at what I have I think I'm going to have to use vband clamps to finish the exhaust or tac everything in place and pull the bed back off and weld it in position. Worry about that later.

Figured I'd go ahead and straighten up the wiring before I finished plumbing the lines. Got to shorten and lengthen a few. Added the fuel pump wires. Looks like a mess, but it will be sharp in the end. Dont mind the million zip ties, they are sacrificial once I get everything like I want it.

I was looking over my fuse box wiring trying to decide how I'm going to loom all of this. Doing so I realized I never posted pictures of the finished project. That must have been when they called me to leave 2 weeks earlier than planned.

I know this can be wired way simpler, but I didn't like how a bunch of stuff was tied together. Makes it harder to trace down an issue. I drew up several ways of doing this before I pulled the trigger. Also I thought of everything I would want on this truck and looked up the schematics before wiring this. Ended up with extra fuse slots both constant and 12v ignition.

I used some of my weather pac terminals on another truck I put digital guages in so I'm going to have to order some more.

Got that done. Leaving it zip tied to the frame for now until I get the brake lines done.

Gunna have to order some adapters. Spacers that went over the studs between the cylinder and bracket had too small of an I.D. I'll wait until the adapters show up before I worry about that, may not need them.

Not sure I'm going to go straight into the brake lines just yet. Think I may mock up the computer bracket and see what I've got to work with for my fuse box first. Would be glad to start getting this rats nest cleaned up though.

I ran the brake line up to the front but I'm going to stop there for now. I've decided I want to mount a bracket on the fender and tie into bulkhead connections and use braided lines up to the proportion valve. I've got to get the inner fender in its correct spot to do that. Also I never squared the cab up because I need to pressure test the fuel lines first. That may affect my shift linkage, wasnt thinking of that when I hooked it up. I'm still waiting on adapters for the fuel filter.

I dug out my 02 sensors and opened my 02 bungs only to find bolts instead of what I ordered. So I'm probably going to hop around and tie up loose ends to keep forward progress. I bolted a bracket on the manifold where I didn't succeed in drilling the broken stud. Took longer to clean and tap out the dirt dobber nests than to install it. I haven't secured any of the lines I recently made to the frame yet because I need to blow them out, and I've got more wiring to the rear I need to address so I can decide on what clamps to use.

not much to finish the day off with. spent alot of time chasing schematics and identifying wires coming off the bulkhead i didnt get too last time, thats not a fun task when computer images are blurry and thats all you have to work with. i wired this engine harness to be setup with digital gauges that i used on another truck. original plan was to use their OBDII module, so now im going to run a 3 wire sensor on the passenger side for now with the stock gauges using only the sender wire until i get around to ordering another dakota dash. same with the oil sender as much as i hate to, i may just rob that dash back lol. last few days seems like every step i take forward i hit a wall for completing something. ive miss placed the bolts and spacer for the steering gear. ended up using the power steering pressure hose on another truck previously and never ordered one to replace it. run out of wire to finish several other things up. bolts for rear lower shocks are too short. so put out another order of stuff again, will grab more bolts next run into the city. on a good note, i did some digging on the company i bought the 02 bungs from- they have 100percent good feed back and only sell 3 things, 2 styles of bungs and 02 plugs, which is most likely what they sent me. so waiting on them to reply back. just about everything ive ordered before today, and today will be showing up about the time i leave to phoenix arizona to watch the rolling stones concert so there will be another delay on updates, but not as long as i normally take when i leave for work unexpectedly. Until then i think i will focus on the wiring i can do from the engine harness to the cab. got an idea on integrating the 7 pin trailer wire harness in case i want to pull my car hauler behind it. and i need to look into the e-brake lines. last time i messed with them i realized the chassis i got was a different year setup, ill have to read back through my posts to remember that or research it again. i know i had to drill rivets out of a tab and bolt on the one off of the original frame.

So I've finally decided how I'm going to mount everything. The fuse box is upside down from how it will mount. I've got to hunt down some spacers for the bolts I'll be using. I'm going it get it tacked for now. Got some ideas for bracing it but not sure yet.

Dug out my new headlight connections. Upgrading to a relay setup, but I didn't realize I was going to get this style high beam connector. Got tired of trying to find these style terminals and just ordered another set without the wires. I'll try to sell or give these away if I cant.

Fuel injection hose & adapters, master cylinder adapters are supposed to be here tomorrow so I can pressure test the fuel system. I sure hope I flared everything correctly, I dont have any 3/8 line left if I dont have enough play to redo anything. Ended up with 10" leftover after I finished.

Spoke to soon on the master cylinder adapters, they just showed up. Well, I guess if I had know I was going to use this proportion valve I would have bought the MC they designed it to work with. Got some tinkering to do here.

So I wasn't sure how I was going to brace it when I was tracing out how I wanted it.. Luckily one of the trim pieces had the perfect angle, happened to line up good with the bottom mount, and only had to shorten it a bit. One of the plug connections is going to be tight so I will have to shim the mount up a bit for clearance on the fender. Was confident on what i come up with so I seal welded all of it, even what wasn't done on the bracket so no future rust will accumulate in there after painted. Couldnt find anything around the shop for spacers so just doubled up a few nuts for the fuse panel. Took off the fuel lines I recently made, blew them out and reinstalled. Going to bolt everything to it here shortly after it cools to see how it looks.

I'm liking how this come out. I've got room for busbars underneath. Only issue right now is I have to go to the bolt store tomorrow and find something shallower for the throttle control module... or get longer bolts and spacers for the computer. Luckily I've got a jam up bolt place in my town, they always got everything under the sun.
