straight 6 to 350 swap
« on: September 07, 2020, 02:06:54 PM »
Hello, I have a 1984 C20 with a SM465 transmission. I will be putting in a (1986) 350 which I stroked to a 383 which has a Borg Warner super T10 4 speed transmission. I have 2 main questions. 1. Can I use any of the existing frame/engine block motor mount components or do I need to replace some or all of the components. Also, will I need to do anything to the drives shaft, shorten, lengthen??? Thank you for your help

I think you will need different mounts going from a 6 to a v8.

Is the v8 and trans still in the truck? If yes, take some measurements of how the components sit.

You will find common jig holes in both frames that you can use as references.

Take lots of photos too before taking anything apart.
