Steering Gearbox Recommendation
« on: April 05, 2021, 06:18:50 PM »
Hi folks, I have a 73K 10 with sloppy steering.  I replaced the gearbox two times with NAPA rebuild the second one. I can see the bottom shaft moving side to side when rocking the wheel.  two different very knowledgeable shops here in town have verified all other parts:  tie rod ends, ball joints, rag joint, etc. are solid.  the Napa salesman looked at the truck and he also said yes,m the second reman gearbox is not acceptable.  Napa is doing a cheerful refund I want to buy a new one,
looking for recommendations on source and brand. I am looking at rock auto units made by BBB or Lares .. Any thoughts on this one or others would be appreciated.

There is a gear adjustment feature available, did you check that?
