Views: 27 | Comments: 3 Hey guys. 73 C20 here. I'm also leaking trans fluid from my driveshaft! It appears every single part my 'infamous mechanic' touched has a new problem. I had him give me a transmission service back in Dec as I was having trouble engaging in first on a cold start. I've attached pictures, but I appear to be leaking fluid on the driveshaft and on the edge of the pan as well. Thinking, I'm going to just take this into a shop as it appears to be leaking from multiple places... At first, I was thinking the seal gave out where the driveshaft meets the trans, but after seeing trans fluid along the edge of the pan too, I just felt utterly defeated at this point with so many things going wrong at once after my mechanics service. Any thoughts? April 18, 2021, 07:13:48 AM by MY1978
Views: 26 | Comments: 2 I need to repaint my air filter housing and I want to paint my master cylinder. I may also touch up radiator and engine bay wheel wells. I want to use a flat black and was wondering about any suggestions for the paint. Will high heat Rustoleum primer and paint be a good choice? This is not a show truck, this my driver a few times a week, during nice weather, so do not need any fancy ceramic, high priced, shiny paint. Thanks April 17, 2021, 03:29:11 PM by 84GMCSierra
Views: 28 | Comments: 1 I'm trying to install an aftermarket tach in my 84, but can't get anything out of it. I have it grounded to the dash, the red wire is hooked to the only terminal marked "IGN", and the green wire is plugged into the terminal on the cap marked "TACH", but no luck. I was told on another site to tap into the white wire coming out of the tach port on the cap, but that only goes to the plug for my ac compressor. There are 3 other wires coming out behind the white wire: Brown, Black, and Pink/Red. Do I need to tap into one of those to make the tach work? (I can't post a photo of the wires as the photos are to large.) April 14, 2021, 12:21:22 PM by jc74868
Views: 39 | Comments: 0 Any thoughts on the best complete serpentine system to use? I initially thought about just getting a stock junkyard system, but I really don't care for the looks. So, I'm pretty much only considering an aftermarket setup. There's the Holley mid-mount system There's March CVF racing Blueprint has a system now Am I leaving something out? They're all pretty much in the same price ballpark. So, I'm thinking looks could be a deciding factor. But, I'm thinking about replacement parts. What if the waterpump fails? A replacement from Holley is about 400 bucks. What kind of pump do some of these other kits use? Do they just use a kind of generic reverse rotation pump that I could find just about anywhere? Views: 106 | Comments: 3 I have a Pnk wire for systems 30 that was loose (with a female terminal on it) at one end and terminates at the instrument Gauge connector (plug) on the end where two pink wires are located on the same terminal (the other pnk wire is a loop). Then there is a pnk with black strip systems 39 wire connected to the fuse box inside cab firewall connector and it terminates where the wiring diagrams say the pnk wire systems 30 is suppose to go (believe it was like this from factory). This pnk black strip wire terminates to a splice in the harness about a foot from the firewall connector. I am doing right by connecting the pnk wire system 30 to where the Pnk black stripe wire was (according to the wiring diagrams) and by moving the pnk black stripe wire system 39 where the diagram shows, it puts pnk black strip wire in a spot where there is no male terminal on the engine side of the firewall fuse box connector. All the other wires check out in these two systems according to the diagrams. My truck of course is a 1981 Chevy K10, 350 Engine, original engine was a 305. Did not have A/C, however I am installing A/C. Has Gauges! Pages: [1]
