No power to choke heater
« on: March 09, 2015, 09:02:51 PM »
I am a newbie to this forum and I need some help with an issue concerning the choke heater, I hope I don't confuse you along the way.
I have had this plain jane "81 Chevy with a straight 6, 250 CI since buying it new.  Now I am passing it along to my grandson.  I bought a "89 Suburban for upgrade parts (power steering, automatic tranny, power windows, etc) and used the instrument panel with gauges.  I changed the oil pressure switch to one that would work the gauge and now the choke heater is not getting power. After researching posts, I now know why being that the new OPS has only one prong.
My question is: how do I get power to the choke heater that works as originally intended, power going to the choke heater only when the engine is running?  This is the only thing stopping me from putting this truck on the street.
