I am thinking when it comes time to go through my rear brakes it may be a God time to convert the rear to disc. Is there anyone out there that make a disc brake conversion for my gm 12 bolt 4x4 rear axle?

Tons of places make disc brake kits for the GM 10 and 12 bolt axles. Just depends on how much money you want to spend. Everything from basic kits that just make it like factory all the way to 6 piston name brand high performance stop at the snap of finger with stainless steel everything kits. Google GM 12bolt disc brake kits, you will get a headache from all the results.

I did but really all I came up with was 2wd 5 bolt stuff and 12 bolt car. I'm not a stranger to disc brake conversions since I install them on almost every restoration I do in my shop but none of my suppliers had anything for me with a 12 bolt truck 6 lug axle.

You'd be better off reconditioning the drum brake system and upgrading the front brakes IMO unless you have a good reason to convert. You will have to modify the parking brake system which can be a pain and you may not be pleased with the end result. That being said if you are sure you want to go through with it, there are kits available for 6 lug, just google 6 lug rear disc conversion 12 bolt

Sorry then. I have a 14bolt 8 lug so rear disc conversions are even harder to find. I've found a few tho and I'm got plans for a conversion.

I don't have any real reason for needing to do rear disc. I just was thinking I need to go through my rear brakes before too long and maybe converting to disc would be better money spent. I have gone through the front recently just installing new pads and rotors. My main thought is it would be nice to have a little better brakes. With 18x10 wheels and 35/12.50-18 tires the breaks are ok but I wouldn't mind better. I have power brakes like I'm sure most of these trucks do and with my stock 2006 5.3 vortec in it making plenty of vacuum you still need to lean on the brakes pretty hard and not as easy for when the wife drives it either.
My truck is an 84 K10 4x4 Shortbox with a mix of parts from other year trucks.

Contact somewhere like diy4x or offroad design. See if they will fab up something for you. They do a 14 bolt kit. (Just mounting and hardware. No calipers rotors or pads.) I think for 70 something bucks
