Ball Joints and Tie Rod ends

I am going to work my way through the front end on my 1979 Chevy 2wd 3/4 ton pickup. What should I look for in a good set of ball joints and tie rods? What is a decent price to pay on these items? Anything else that I should know before starting in, I do have some time off now, so I figured it would be best to get it all done at once.
