87 led tailight bulbs
« on: December 22, 2018, 10:53:43 AM »
Been thinking about replacing my 1157 tailight bulbs with LED style. Is there a plug and play type
That I can just buy and replace without doing anything else. Seems like everything I read about
This swap , you have to change this or add that to make them work right. I want brighter tailights.
Thanks
Jerry

do you want to swap just the bulbs or the whole housing? all you would need is new flashers as the LEDs dont draw enough current to trip the thermal flashers you should have

Irish alley----all I want to do is change bulbs if possible. If not, what do I need and where does
It install? Does it just replace something already there ? Also, what bulbs should I have to buy?
As you can probably tell, electrical stuff is not my thing.

You can just buy LED replacement bulbs, auto parts store, eBay etc.

Just type in the bulb # LED. Ex 1157 LED...

Tried a l1157 led bulb on right side. It blinked same as reg 1157 on left side, but was not quite as
Bright as reg 1157. Running lights about same brightness Have seen some tests on you tube
and results are about same. Anybody have any luck with just changing bulbs like I did? Does something else have to be changed or added? Almost forgot, painted background with spaz
chrome paint and installed sylvania 1157 super bright bulbs. They are definitely brighter now.
