I have a 1976 short bed with a carbureted 379 (yes 379). The transfer case body is iron and it is massive. Numbers; 346321GM and either C126 or C\26. I have to find out what/when my drivetrain is. Anyone have any info?

Thanks to all on the leads. Turns out it is an NP205. With the iron case it appears in line with the vintage of the car. now to solve the 379 CID gasoline engine mystery. Could GM have marketed the 379 as the 400?

You're probably right. I have strap plated from the 203 being a full time unit that required conversion. I stand corrected.
