new guy from IL
« on: January 08, 2008, 12:14:03 PM »
I just stumbled across this sit and spent an hour checking it out. Decided it was perfect for me. I have a 78, 83, and part of an 80. The 78 is my ongoing project of which i will post picks soon. 83's a farm truckand the 80 was parts. Ive had my 78 for 7 years and ahve been collecting parts on a short budget due to highschool and college. My plan is to eventually have a 1978 2500 HD. I have a GEN VI bigblock to go in and got some 2500 badges on ebay. Ive rebuilt the axles and transfer, tranny is next, then put it all together and get it painted. I love these trucks and plan on posting some parts later and deffinitely some questions.

Sounds like a fun project...nice job on being unique with the 2500HD badges. It would be even cooler if you found an 8100 vortec to stick in there one day!

welcome aboard!  i love your idea with the "classic" 2500HD.  i'm all about mixing new and old and plan to do a lot of that with my truck.
