Could I easily replace a 4 barrel qjet with a 2? I'm looking to really try and get as much mileage as possible and was told that if I wasn't hauling or pulling, that it might help.

Also, would there be a direct bolt on that wouldn't require rejetting?

Mr. Gasket use to make a 4 to 2 bbl. adapter. I used to use them on my circle track car. The problem you are going to have is the throttle cable is a different length and if you have a 700R4 that hook up won't be there. Why don't you just unhook the secondaries?

What would that do...and how would I go about doing it?

If you keep your foot out of it and it's properly setup, your qjet will get better mileage than a 2 barrel unless that 2 barrel is meant for a much smaller engine.

By removing the secondary linkage you would essentially would have a 2 bbl. Assuming you have a Rochester quadrajet there is a linkage on the passenger side that opens the secondaries that you could remove. It is easy to figure out once you look at it and how it operates.
