Friday, September 11th, 2015: My first Trip to LS Fest with an LS powered truck. Originally when I started on this truck this is the event I was targeting to make it too.  My twin brother and I took our vehicles there.  Our first stop was meeting up with Mark Burch (AGearHead4Life) along with Davie whose truck was in the 73-87 LS swap Challenge and number of new friends.

This is Greg's Supercharged LS powered C10, he drove about 18 hours to be there.

This is on our way back home.  Even though Davie didn't win he ended up keeping the LS and is working on getting it cleaned up to drive again.

Thursday, October 22nd, 2015: Many months prior a friend of mine had a 2003 Silverado that started making noise.  It had a 4.8L in it and he was replacing it with a 5.3L and he asked me if I wanted it, for free..  I told him yes and it took us about 8 weeks to get together and get it, but I finally picked it up.  I plan to build this for this truck and boost the snot out of it.

Monday, October 28th, 2015: Scary story time.  For 22,000 miles the truck has been operating flawlessly.  It had a bad rearend whine from the axle I swapped in it and the first week of August I had new ring pinion and Eaton LSD along with Moser Axles.  Radiator had a leak that I swapped out a good one for...  This is something that didn't give any warning.  While driving in to work (luckily after I dropped my daughter off at school) I had a car in from of me hit their brakes which is not big deal as this thing stops pretty good with the 4 corner discs.  When I went to hit the brakes there was a "pop" in the brake pedal and it dropped to the floor.  I was able to slow down and not wreck and eventually got it home.  When I got it there I crawled under it and found this...  I ordered a replacement brake and picked it up later that week.

Saturday, October 31st, 2015: After getting the truck to a friends lift I pulled the brake line off and found that they had given me the wrong line.  Spend the better part of a day looking for the correct one.  I ended up buying everyone I could find and replaced it.  It appeared to be in a bind, so I made some modifications to the bracket and so far it is doing better, but I keep checking it.

This is how it is routed now.

This is how bad it was broken.  This was a new line that was put on when I swapped to discs.  I will eventually be replacing these with braided line..

Tuesday, November 3rd, 2015: A old highschool buddy of mine runs a machine shop that rebuilds hydralics. I had previously purchased a F-body Tailhousing, a SSR mainshaft and mainshaft bushing and seal.  I stopped by his place to have him look at it and see if he would machine the part.  He told me he could.  These are the pieces you can see the difference in the standard 27 spline bushing vs the SSR th400 sized bushing.

Tuesday, November 10th, 2015:This is it after the modifications.

Wednesday, November 25th, 2015: As you probably have seen in the CamoK5 thread I have been working on it during the past few months.  This day I put the R10 Driver to work and drove to pick up some new tires for the CamoK5, they are Wild Country MTX 35x12.50x15

Wednesday, November 25th, 2015: This post should catch me up to the present.  I apologize for the lack of posts.  We (73-87chevytrucks.com have a lot going on right now.  For the past 2 months we are trying to get our new shopping cart on line since the old one is outdated and support is going away.  I am working on trying to get some forum changed scheduled for the boards and my normal work has been eating time too.  This is a picture of the CamoK5 (lifted) along with my R10 DRiver (lowered).  We don't discrimintate here...

Quick memory on cost...
Motor, running hacked wiring harness - $800
Wiring harness - got painless on sale  - $500
Twin Turbos (not considering the originals that one died) - $1800
Turbo control, wiring blow off, waste gates etc - $1500
Stainless Tubing - $250
X-pipe kit (modified with the above) - $400
Aluminum tubing, couplers intercooler etc - $2200
TIG welding - $2500
S&P Headers - $600

I am sure I am missing stuff but that is the big items.

I disagree with the 2.5K thing...  I got my turbo stuff at a discount since I was a dealer and I had accounts with other vendors also...

Hey captkaos

Where did you get your fuel line? I need to replace the factory steel lines anyways so id like to just go steel the whole way with out any rubber. I know im going to use a 87 tank with a diffrent pump as long as i dont let it get below 2 or 3 gals so the pump dont get hot. I asked at my local auto parts and he said to use brake line?

The braided line or the steel line?  The steel line is the factory lines.  If you need some inlinetube.com or classictube.com sells replacement lines.  If you use the 87-up EFI tanks you don't have to worry about it running low.

You cannot run hardlines all the way as you have to allow for flex.

Braided lines maybe thats what i want? Ill have to do some looking around to find some. Is that the way to go over buying the factory steel lines and then using higher rated rubber hose?
