Transmission Master Rebuild Kit
« on: February 23, 2019, 01:53:16 PM »
I am going to rebuild my THM-350 transmission in my 1982 GMC K1500. There are so many kits I do not know which one to choose. I am planning on keeping this truck for life so I want a good one. I haul a lot of firewood and pull logs sometimes while collecting firewood. (Probably why I need a rebuild) I also have a NP 208 transfer case and I am going to rebuild that as well. OH - I want a Torque converter as well. I am not rich however I will spend some money for good stuff if I know the good from the not so good.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Kindly!

My suggestion would be to get a 700R4. For the time and money you are going to put into old inefficient technology, you could be well on your way to an upgrade. If you are set on the TH350, why does it need a rebuild? What's it doing?

It leaks profusely and has metal shavings in the system. Still drives good as of now however I know that will change. Also is slow about going into reverse. It's been a good one and I have worked it hard.
