Hi,
I‘m sorry that i ask… I need the Vent Window Frame für my 1978 C10.
As I understand it here, I can also use newer Window frames, but looking at the part sellers , they all only offer the frames for 81-newer Chevy trucks.

If I use a newer frame, do i also need another sealing and glas? In your link above (thanks for that!) they look a bit different.
It‘s also possible, that i missunderstood your replies. Reading in english for me is 60% understanding 40%guessing ….
Regards
Chris

Oh trust me, the 81 and newer will fit.  I pulled my vent windows from my '78 so that I could replace the seals.  Well........one frame was an 81-85 2-piece seal with the tabs and the other was an 85 -87 on piece with the hinge covered  WTH!!!!!!  How that happened I have NO idea.  I have only had a latch "fixed" at one time.  Not only did they install the wrong latch (one with a locking button), but they apparently switched out the whole frame.  How the other one got changed out, I have NO ideal.

Also, maybe this video will help.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=unq2ntN-14o

Hi,
thank you for the video!
This will help me to disassemble the frame.
My problem is, the frame itself has lost some material because of rust.
Okay, i try to weld and grind it.

Glad the video was helpful.  Once you figure out your frame, they can be purchased from Summit, Classic Industries, maybe  , Ecklers maybe.  Depending on how much you want to spend, you can even purchase a complete vent setup.  Costly though.  $200+ dollars a window.  Other thought would be going to a salvage yard that has classics and strip one out of a junker.  Good luck.

https://www.prinstruckshop.nl/a-62063577/1973-86-serie-deuren/vent-window-frame-passenger-s-side-1973-80/#description

I just ordered one, if it‘s there, i‘ll report how it fits.
