Title: 4x4 Frame, 2wd body build.

I have a 75 K-10 long bed that a buddy gave to me that I’m wanting to put a C-10 body on. I want the body to be from a long bed and the same body style 73-80 as the 4x4 truck was. The only thing I’ve read is that I need the trans tunnel from the 4x4 to have the transfer case selector work. Other than that is it a straight bolt on job? Feel free to chime in with any advice on the topic, I’ve never done a body swap before and would appreciate any info about it.

Tunnels were different between 4 and 2 wheel drives. Do you still have the K10 cab? Can you choppy chop and weldy weld?

I still have the tunnel on my 4x4 donor truck, I’m gonna scrap the cab due to the rust issues but I have removed pretty much everything of value. On my 75 it looks like it just unbolts so that should be easy enough. Glad I asked before hauling it off!

I put a 1986 chevy c10 body on a 1980 gmc k15 frame. It bolted right up. I didn't have any problems with the smaller tunnel. I had to cut the hole for the tcase(np205) shifter but that's about it. The only other thing I remember being weird was the parking brake, the front tow hooks and the air deflector on the bumper.
