Have after market aluminum wheels. Want to remover clear coat and polish. What's best:
Aircraft quality paint remover or oven cleaner or ??? Want to leave tires on wheels.
What to use to maintain shine after polishing?

You might try Mother's Mag and Aluminum Polish. I have seen videos of it being used and it appears it works very well.

Permatex 80646 Gasket Remover will strip clear off of wheels.  Comes in a Blue Aerosol can.

This is what I used on these wheels to get the clear off.

Use paint stripper and then use Mothers Mag aluminum or chrome polish. It works well if you use a foam drill attachment to polish it, doing it by hand will take a long time and will be very tedious
