help on proper stance

Hi guys first time body off resto of my 85 lwb half ton i need to know how this would look 3 inch drop spindles and a rear flip with the hd 7 leaf springs, I'm looking for a slight raked stance so I'm pretty sure ill have to cut the front coils but i dint want to hack them up to bad, i have a brand new set of hd springs for the front and from what ive read on the site they sit a little higher, so how many coils would i have to cut off ??? and what other front end mods are in involed in cutting the springs i also have an old pair of springs should i just use those? i was also worried about the lower control arm clearance with the cut springs how much would there be? thanks guys any help/pictures is much appreciated as my head is spinning on this  ???
I swear i was just going to put a new motor in but...

I would use a set of lowering springs with the spindles on the front instead of cutting what you have.

Cut the spare set 1/2 coil and drive it.  If it isn't low enough for your tastes cut a little more off.
ONLY cut the bottom of the spring and don't cut more than 2 coils off.

the hole reason i was asking on here was because my truck is in the middle of a body off resto and i cant drive it, it also does not have a front clip on it right now or a fully dressed motor(just the rebuilt shortblock in there) so its alot lighter i didnt want to go cutting the coils though if the ride was going to be to harsh or if the ground clearance was going to be an issue , i know i have to cut the coils to get it lower and from what ive read in other posts ive already learned that i should only cut half a coil from the bottom at a time but i needed help on the other topics asswell like clearance of the lower control arm,other mods if i cut springs(shorter shockes and bump stops???) the ride quality and the ride height when cutting 1 full coil off,  the only truck i seen with a ride height i liked was an 86 where he heated the coils and im not foolish enough to go doing that i thought someone on here might have a truck with that slammed rackedf stance they could show me a picture of and tell me how much they cutr off to save me somer time

p.s.  capt i want to order one of your one peice window kits to but i wanted to know if this glass is cutom made or if its from another year or something just for replacement purposes, if it is cutom made can i order extra glass to ?and how much would just glass be?thanks

If you are building it, WAIT until you get the truck together to fine tune the height, since no spring settles the same, what I posted is the best you can come up with and get it perfect.  Cutting a coil will cause no more problems what what you will currently have.

As for the Windows, you can get extra glass and they are custom made.  If you ever break them, they will be availible from the manufacturer of the kit, or though me.  I haven't had anyone ask for a kit + a spare set of glass, but do you anticipate breaking them?  The Glass is the most expensive part of the kit.

lol capt no i dont plan on breaking them i just dont want to have to worry about the company going under and not being able to get replacements

I don't think you will have to worry about them going under.  It has been a family business for 20+ years, and they are a big custom glass shop in California, Pete's Auto Glass.

thanks vile, but i meant pictures of trucks with a racked stance not pictures of the cut spring but thanks again, im learning you have to be really specific on this site lol sorry if i wasnt clear on my origanal post :-[

do mean you want the wheel wells front and rear to  have the same gap from rim to fender mines pretty close

It doens't work like that, it depends on the age and fatigue of the spring.
