Visited the truck today, decided on the silver for the second color and the line. Paint starts next week or the week after. Should be home before may!

After they get the cab mounted, I'll go up with my remanufactured brakes and steering column. At least get that on before the fenders go on. I'd love to do electrical too, but it needs to get home first.

Very excited to pick up new wheels and tires today. Not certain when I'll get to install them. Car gets first coat of paint in the cab this coming week.

American Racing AR23 16x8 wheels.
Open range all terrain from les schwab 235/85r16

I had one spare of the original tires, 35x12.5x16.5. It had never been run, but was 18 years old.

Here's two pictures with the spare tire. The 35" tires are a beast! No wonder the fenders were sawed up to fit.

The auto body shop is doing this as a filler. I thought first paint would have been last week, but now this week. He says he retired and gives up the ship June 1st. Timing is getting tight. I wish it were faster, was hoping to have the truck home this month, but not going to happen.

I stopped by my home town autobody shop this week when in Wisconsin on spring break. I got a nice calendar. 😁 They do their metal work so there's zero filler. After I retire, I'll do my '52 international myself, with a goal of zero bondo. I haven't welded since I was 18 and that was with a stick and I wasn't very good at it. I hear MIG is the way to go. It may not look as nice as a professional, but it will be satisfying.

Made it up to visit the truck this morning, paint has begun. I'm very pleased with the color. It will pop even more when there's clear coat on top.

Expecting to have the cab and fenders done within a month, fingers crossed.

Also put the new wheels into the truck. They pull the outside of the wheels in roughly four inches so the fenders should no longer be at risk of hitting. Woohoo!

I'm liking those rims! That's the style I've been looking for to use on my 83 K10/20.

Thanks all!

Funny thing is I'm selling the old wheels to the same high school mudding kid I sold other stuff to. The price of the original truck is nearing zero.

The body shop guy wasn't happy with the pitting on the floor so he put another sealing primer with a little texture on it.

Maybe I'll just put a rubber mat on the floor, forget about carpet. It will be nice.

Like the floor board and look forward to seeing the paint with clear. Think it will look nice. You seem to be making good progress.

Painter made great progress this week.

Interior is done, you can see the color pretty well in the second picture. Third picture is the textured floor boards. Last picture is the underside "bed liner".

Looking forward to what gets painted this week!

Plan for this is to get cab, fenders, hood done so I can get the truck back to the shop. If the stars align, I can at least get the master cylinder in before the fenders, but I likely have to put it all together afterwards. Hard to take days off from work right now.  Maybe I can convince him to bring it with just the cab. It would be nice to get electrical in also. When the bed is done, will tow it back up, get that installed.

Thanks Mike!

By coincidence, I saw for the first time a Camaro of the same color, Riverside Blue. The black wheels will look good.

Very excited after seeing this picture of the dry fit of the cab. Painter puts the cab and fenders on, marks the line for the two tone, takes it apart and paints in the booth. Man, I'm afraid to see the bill.

Lighting is better than in the booth, support happy about the color.

Definitely like the color. I like the way there aren't any shadows in the body lines like where the B-pillar transitions to the lower part of the cab.
