TH 350 2WD vs 4WD

Is the difference just the tail stock or is the output shaft different too?
I'm about to be pulling apart a K-10 and figure I should redo the transmission while at it.
I have a TH350 out of a C-10.
Thanks!

theres 2 different th350 4x4 tailshafts ( about 7/8" for the NP203 and NP205 and NP208 between 2" to 2 1/2"). and theres 3 different 4x2.

Thanks Irish!
Is the output shaft the same?
I have a NP203.

not sure i follow?
no matter what it should be 27 splines and pretty sure its the same diameter. not sure if you can cut a 4x2 output shaft down to make it fit a 4x4 but i imaging you could have a spacer between the adapter plate and trans and then cut the shaft down. or i might be 100% wrong and you might be able to cut the shaft down

Sorry Irish,
The word Shaft should probably be replaced with
output drive
that has 27 splines.
I imagine that they have various lengths due to long and short tail stocks.
I have a TH350 mated with a NP203 and have an opportunity to replace it while I have the motor out.
The replacement I have is out of a 2WD C-10.
I guess (unless someone here knows for sure) that I will have to take them out for a look.
Thanks again!

well one way is to take the tail shaft housing off the c10 th350 and measure the splines. if you have the first 7/8s of splines after the flange then it would depend on how much you need inside of the trans. if you dont have the 7/8s visible then you'll need a spacer
