I am brand new to site seems like it will be very helpful. I am putting a 5.3 in my 1976 Chevy pick up. I have the 5.3 but curious about where to get the motor mounts and if there is a good one to buy and one not to buy. Price is also important!!!
Thanks, Robert

i tried trans dapt plates and didnt work to well. i returned them and bought hooker plate adapters. the motor sits far back and low just like i wanted. if i had known about the dirty dingo mounts i would have bought those they are fully adjustable you set the motor where you want. im very happy how the hooker plates worked for me though there are many companies that sell lsx swap adapter plates. just to name a few carshop inc, hooker, transdapt, dirty dingo, cpp, and many others. heres a pic of how my motor sits

Also before I install my 5.3 I wud like to have my frame blasted and powdercoated. Does anyone wat wud be a fair price to have this done?? I don't want to pay too much

thanks, powder coating a frame is gonna cost quite a bit. i just painted mine with some ceramic chasis paint, its durable but not like powder coat. it looks good and is rust free. heres a pic of the frame painted i think it came out nice.

What motor trans did your truck have in it? Mine came with a 305/th350 combo from the factory and I ended up needing the 1" setback mounts to get my trans back where it was originally(I installed a 6.0/Th350). I ended up with some S&P 1" setback mounts. I'm getting ready to drop a 5.3 in my 76 C10 also.

i also bought the 1" plates to get my motor far back as i wanted. my truck came with a 305/th400 combo. i didnt mind moving the crossmember back. the fitment to me is better than factory. im using a 60e tranny, i had to drill 2 holes to move it back.
correction i remember i drilled and tapped the adapter plates to set the motor furter back, so the motor is sitting back more than 1".
