1986 chevy K 10 fuel pump
« on: August 16, 2017, 04:28:15 PM »
Okay, so I gotta 1986 k10 with a 305 and dual tanks. From the factory did it have an electric or mechanical fuel pump? It's an electric pump now, also, I'm going to be redoing the fuel system. New tank, lines, pump etc. should I go mechanical or electric? I'm wanting to make it a daily driver. It's got a quadrajet.

Your 86 would've came with a mechanical fuel pump. 87 and up is electric.

Mechanical pump is going to be cheaper and easier to access. They'll both get the job done.

I feel like mechanical would be more reliable so that's what I would go with personally.
