83 k20 clunk under drivers side
« on: October 03, 2017, 04:33:08 PM »
Ok so I have an 83 k20 dually 4x4 (1 ton frame 1ton rear axle, 3/4 ton front axle) 6.2 turbo diesel, I just had the engine rebuilt with all special parts from peninsular diesel parts coated pistons etc running amazingly just broke it in. But when I accelerate there is a clunk under initial load from a completely stop (sometimes 2 clunks) it feels like it's right under the driver, I checked the frame it's solid and in great shape, however I do know that the front driveline is worn and needs to be rebuilt which is why I don't use the 4wd but would that still possibly cause the clunking? The motor mounts are solid so the tcase hitting the floorpan is ruled out, im just lost as to what could cause this.
