Howdy guys.

All I had to do was put some pressure from a thin flat screwdriver, and with a little difficulty, they came out. The threads on the bolts were done, but the head was fine. Unfortunately, further testing shows that the block I have is cracked. So much for that motor  :(

BTW that craigslist gag was just a joke. Apparently I'm really good at telling them :P

I was having troubles with coolant going into the oil pan from the very beginning, and me and my coworker were pretty much trying everything to solve the issue. Our last resort was to get another intake manifold, which didn't work because first we put the wrong bolts in and second there was conflict with the fuel injection heads on a carbureted manifold. The people who built the crate motor were real hacks.

So you went from stripped threads to a cracked block? How did that happen? What is it you are saying about eBay listing? An engine you are trying to buy? You know what you have?  ???
