TBI delete
« on: June 24, 2020, 03:54:29 PM »
I know I’ll get flamed for this but... 87 C10, Looking to buy a non running project truck. Truck has tbi. I do not want anything to do with tbi, sensors, or  computers. Looking to build old school 350 with mechanical fuel pump. Gas tanks will need replacement anyway. Question is can I use pre 87 tanks with corresponding fuel level senders and get rid of the electric fuel pumps. Helpful advice much appreciated. Thanks.

BD can reply, but you should be able to just use pre-87 fuel level sensors in '87 tanks. The advantage would be the sump dams that are in the '87 tanks and your fuel fills won't be mismatched. I won't bother trying to convince you to stay with the electric pumps and such. I would put on a Holley Sniper or FITech system. They are super easy to do!
