Hello everybody. My name is Rich and I come calling from the central coast of California. I have had the privilege of growing up with a 76' Scottsdale Big Ten in my life. My grandfather purchased the truck new from a local dealership to pull a travel trailer he would buy the next year. this setup replaced their old 62' oldsmobile station wagon and 16ft shasta. The new 76' Scottsdale and 21ft Vacationeer Vagabond would take them all over the united states and Canada. I camped with my grandparents with this setup in the late 80s-early 90s. My grandfather passed away in 94' and I was given the truck when I was still a kid though couldn't drive until 2002. I did alot of work to the truck and put it in indoor storage in 2008 because I wanted to stop putting the daily wear and tear on it. I have kept it in running order all this time and even trying to correct some of my mechanical " sins" from the high school days. I plan on keeping / restoring the truck to how I remember it as a kid as I have so many fond memories or riding around with my grandfather and family with this truck. I have the original check my grandfather wrote for it. I am thinking its time to bring the truck out and get it road safe again and start using it as to appreciate it like I used to. I wanted to join the forum for support in parts and maybe some restoration techniques, general comradery.
EDIT : I dunno why the pics are distorted, I apologize for that.

Hello, Rich. Welcome to the family from the middle of the San Joaquin Valley, California. It's always a treat to hear the provenance of one of our trucks.

In other words... if people learn by making mistakes, by now I should know just about everything!!!

Hey Rich,
Welcome and great story!
If only they were that 'low profile' in real life...
I was just up in A.G. last week, what a wonderful part of the country! Such natural beauty.
Look forward to your journey with your truck.

Welcome to the band.
I too have a Big 10.
I love the fact these were the "thumbing the nose" to gov't's emissions demands.
