Gauges aren't working.
« on: August 17, 2018, 06:05:23 PM »
I just bought an 85 c10. The only gauge that works is the speedometer, and to be fair I'm not sure if it is accurate. Before I go diving in, are there any common issues that would cause this?  Thank you.

The first place to check is the instrument panel ground (black wire) up under the dash.  On your '85 truck I think there is a grounding bar mounted there, but you can also ground it to the emergency brake pedal or other good chassis ground.

Then check the instrument panel fuse to see that its providing power.  Once you get power and ground connected, let us know what is still not working.
