Is this my Electronic Spark Control (ESC) Sensor? I pulled it out of the block - drivers side between, and just above, spark plugs 1 and 3.

If you look carefully you'll see that the sensor in the image actually threads into the cylinder head between cylinders #1 and #3. It is the engine coolant temperature switch (idiot lights) or sensor (gauges). The ESC knock sensor threads into the right side of the engine block above and slightly forward of the starter.

In other words... if people learn by making mistakes, by now I should know just about everything!!!

Thank you. I thought it was the temp sensor, and yesterday I remove it and replaced it with a new temperature gauge, because I only had the light in the dash. But the truck was running real rough and the check engine light came on today. I thought I may have screwed something up... Probably just screwed something else up.
