6 lug rim options
« on: October 22, 2015, 04:42:47 PM »
did Chevy/GMC ever do a 16 inch 6 lug rim for the 73-87 trucks, or would the only option be to go newer style (88 up)? can't really find any info on this

thanks

I know the earlier trucks came with 16.5 rims but I don't know about 16. I think 16" came in later because of tire manufacturers and safety.

yeah I like the stock rallye wheels, but only come in 15" and like the hub cap ones as well, but again I think they only came in 15" for the 6 lug, 8 lugs came with 16 inch rims(or 16.5 depending on years)

I might just do some cheap steels, really just want them for winter so I can do a tall skinny tire, like 7.50x16 traction type tires

I run 16's on my 78 ,76 and 69 k10's and found them at summit ,cheap steely's, so many more ops for treads ect. with no lifts they fit your idea and not to be advertising for anyone but cosco sells 24 lugs in a bag for 21 bucks. the newer rims hit everything and the offset tucks them in weirdly deep aside from the center hole wont go over the hub even the steel spares.
