I bought a 66 on a 78 chassis once. The gap between the bed and cab was about 6"+ becasue the newer trucks have a bit longer wheel base. The mounts on the frame are diferent as well, mine had the 66 mounts bolted to the frame.
What exactly are you trying to acomplish?

Some people are like Slinkies. Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs

Ive got a 79 4x4 with a badly rusted cab and a crushed right fender that I want to replace and cabs are proving hard to find. Im just trying to open up more options for cab replacement and  i like that body style also.
