What is the exact size, and type, fitting that screws into the trans cooler in the radiator?

The reason why i was asking is because i want to do a transmission flush.  But my radiator does not have fittings from the trans cooler that protrude out---so there's no place to put a hose on to.  So i thought i needed some sort of barb fitting.  But i think i will just buy some 5/16" brake line from Autozone and slip a hose over it.

This also leads me to my next question in the external trans filter thread........
