someone point me toward a good cheap SHORT spark plug!
« on: August 03, 2011, 10:17:17 PM »
i got a package of 8 "u groove header plugs" by accel... then read that they foul like crazy, so i'll be returning them tomorrow. you cant get them locally as individual plugs, just in the 30$ 8 pack. im not about to throw away money like that!

im currently running r43ts plugs.

the only issue is header clearance. im gonna swap over to an accel high temp wire set but not this week.

running these plugs, the plug boot is basically touching the header.

What headers do you have? You may be able to re-route the wires to where theres more clearance. Do you have 90°, 45°, or straight plug wires?

90. There's no way to get extra clearance by moving the wires. Poor design for sure.

not being able to buy them as singles locally was enough reason for me not to run them. but yeah if you search "accel header plug" on google you get tons of forums saying they run like crap. it was a good 80/20 of people hating them to people liking them.

NGK "regular" plugs are as short as a "shorty" accel. buy angled plug heads and you learn ALOT of tricks!!!! and also if my memory still works, bosch platinums are pretty short too.

i havnt had a problem with ac plugs now granted i never used them "performance" wires never had a problem with store brand types, don’t need 8mm with a slightly modified engine.
