bolt on exhaust system with out welding?
« on: May 13, 2017, 03:44:20 PM »
1987 R10 350 short box.

I am restoring a 1987 r10 and have threw out all the old exhaust, I did keep the stock manifolds and have had them resurfaced and cleaned up and painted, as I will not be running headers.  So now I just have the manifolds and was wondering if there is a exhaust system out there that I can buy that would bolt up run all the way back, with out having to take it to the shop or weld?  In other words, something I could take right out of the box and install it in my shop?  I do want duals.

There are bolt-on full 2 1/4" systems sold by Summit Racing, JC Whitney and several others.  Most are made by major companies (Hooker, Hedman, etc.) so I assume they are decent quality.

The 1987 crossmember configuration doesn't lend well to dual exhaust without custom exhaust work.

It's difficult to know just how much you don't know until you know it.
In other words... if people learn by making mistakes, by now I should know just about everything!!!
