« on: September 14, 2008, 11:21:14 PM »
well as you know i have my truck covered with a tarp and some of it goes under the truck anyways i was out there and i seen some water where it rained and it had something red in it and my transmission is right above it so it is leaking this means when i get to where i can take my tranny out i am going to have to get it checked out but could this be a big problem or does a seal need to be replaced i have never had any truble with it before except when i put it in 4wd it would not go in gear sometimes.

It really depends on where the leak is.  If it is the seal next to the slip yoke of the driveshaft, no biggie.  If it is the gasket around the pan, no biggie, if it is a line going to/from the radiator cooler, no biggie.

It could be the torque converter.  It could be around your speedometer or fill tube.  Hard to say...
