Got some upholstery work I've got to finish before I leave so somewhat of a hold up. But the fuel system tested great after some hiccups. When I was putting the fuel lines on I noticed the return line was loose. So, jacked cab up a bit, unhooked the suction line and tightened on  the return until I bottomed the nut out. I thought WTH... kind of hard to see. So pulled the whole thing out and the dang nut slide over the sleeve.

Chopped the flare off, luckily this-of all pieces-I could get away with doing that. Re-flare, reinstall, pressure test. Slight drop at filter-fixed. Retest... running good then sounds like pump drops into granny gear and is a bind...fuel everywhere. Leaking on the return line I just fixed but where the hose hooks up. Tightened the piss out of it and again the same. Some how, keeping this thing capped off from outside elements it had gotten clogged. 120 psi of air- gurgle in the tank, put it back together-works fine. Jumped leads to test driver tank, fingers crossed, won the lotto.

Not going to have any help to align the cab until next week so going to hit a few odds and ends until then.

Nobody around this area carrys any type of nylon spacers... so how about them washers!!! Going to have to dig around online. Got the rear/bottom shock bolts on. Got to dig up a spacer for the steering gear, may just bolt it up for now without it. Also another look at that AN fitting...

Did some double checking and started drawing up a diagram for the fuse box yesterday. Got a few relay wires I need to change up for the fans in the fuse box. More on all that another day.

Bolted up my tow bar to see how the holes line up, not liking how it fits. May end getting some brackets cut later on so I dont have to drill the frame. Only 2 holes lined up, the others are not in convenient spots to drill.

The nice new painted steering gear I've been waiting to put on is not the right one. I think it come off one of my dodges. I think I robbed the one I had a year or so ago when I rebuilt one for another truck. I have an extra, but it sat in the weather for along time so I'm not going to rebuild it. I'll just buy a new one.

Got the O2 bungs welded and installed. Not sure if I'll have another update. Will be in Phoenix for the next 4-5 days.

Well pheonix and the rolling stones was awesome, now back to the ole truck.

I haven't had any luck finding blueprints for the short bed wheelbase. But I think I've got it figured as close as I can to square the cab up before everything else gets bolted on. First off I used this blueprint and did the math to come up with 42" from back of the cab to centerline of the rear wheels. Used a square and straight edge off the O.D. of the axle and found center. Strung a string line across the front hanger spring bolts, come up dead square with the end of frame but not my centerline marks. So I thought about it a bit... got the degree finder out, leveled the frame best I could in all the some what flat surfaces of the rear frame within a degree or less. Put a square on the axle the old fashion way to finding center of pipe. Checked it both ways. Got a straight edge, lined it up with the center mark on the axle, put the degree finder on the straight edge and transferred my mark to the frame. Double checked my marks on the frame with hard points and looks like I'm within less than 1/16" square from the world. So tomorrow I'll have some extra help and we will get it lined up best as possible and hope it lines up good later down the road when I toss it all together. Hard to take pictures of all what I did, I'll get some tomorrow when the help shows up and we double check everything.

So with the blueprints I found online for the longer wheelbase trucks and doing the math... no point that I measured was close to what its supposed to be except for the rear of the cab to the centerline of the axle. I've got 41 5/8" there and I come up with it supposed to be 42". 117.5 wheelbase - 75.5 CL front wheels to rear of cab = 42". The cab moves fairly easy and I've brain f*** this every way possible I'm going to leave it where it sits. I know the bed doesn't have a whole lot of play so I'll square it up and readjust everything from there if I have too. I just hope it doesnt effect the transmission lines later down the road. Had a few people look over what I've got, one agrees it's good to go, the other says I should align the holes up on the cab with the holes on the frame mounts next to the bushings, I think the second person is wrong because I did and it threw all the measurements out of square.

So on to progress... started routing front brake lines...

Made a new line to the proportion valve. Finally messed up on bending these lines, took me 2 times to get it right. The rear one I dont have a flare tool small enough to get it flared so it will have to wait.

Made a bunch of spacers, and bolted up the core support and inner fender to mock up wiring.

Need to order some more heat shrink labels before I can cut everything to length and put weather pack connectors on. Going to focus on transmission lines tomorrow.

Been a few but been busy. Decided another route on transmission lines so that's on hold for a bit. Haven't messed with the fuse box because my heat shrink labels haven't showed up. I think the hurricanes are affecting shipping on that and a few other things. Added a few buss bars on the bracket and stopped there.

So, i didn't like stock a/c mount location. Good thing I haven't tightened the water pump yet. Done fought a low mount compressor recently-that was heck. This one was still a pain being wide open. Got the new high mount bracket in today, they sent the wrong socket head bolt to mount to the head under the tensioner, so didn't get far on that. I'll get the right one Monday at the bolt house.

Other than that, stripped the dash getting ready for upgrades. Decided to steal the digital dash back out of my other truck. I'll get another one later. Started running the fuel pump lines to the switch. In doing so remembered I dont have my labels yet and I've got several other wires I need to loom together with them so, hit a wall again. Hopefully parts will start showing up soon. Removed the stock gas pedal. Tomorrow I'll identify dash wires for the digital guages.
