Needed backspacing
« on: March 15, 2018, 11:03:34 AM »
Thinking about drop spindles for my 87 2wd Chevy short / wide box. Have cut 1 coil from
Orig springs. Dropped about 2 1/4". Tires are 235/75/15. Have 15" aftermarket wheels.
Have to check back spacing on them as truck is still in winter storage. My question is: what
Back spacing will I need if I go to 2" or 2 1/2" spindles? Also where do the 15" wheels make
Contact with suspension ? What do I need to look for? Also have read where 3" spindles are
Only ones that give you interference, with 15" rims. Would 2" or 2 1/2" spindles interfere with
Fender lip or inner fender tubs?

The interference with 15x8 rims are not at the fender but at the control arm and rim. any 15x8 that has the same BS at the factory rally (4 inch BS) will have the same issue.

1" 5x5 Spacers and shortening the lug nuts should do the trick.
