holley carb help
« on: June 08, 2009, 01:45:13 PM »
hey guys.
well I've got my motor all broke in and it runs a lot harder than it ever has before.
well over the weekend somehow it blew the power valve.
it drank 2x the gas on my trip to the river.
well ever since I fixed it and reset the carb per directions( with a vaccume gauge)
I cannot for the life of me get the carb to hold the setting!
its really ticking me off.
I had it set yesterday afternoon purring like a kitten and without any sputter.
I go to warm the truck up and roll out and now its spitting back through the carb and won't take a dead punch, and it won't idle in gear.
I need some advice before I chunk this thing and get a eldebrock.

All your vacuum lines hooked up?

Mine had me guessing after adjusting my valves untill I saw my brake booster was unhooked.

lol, that'll do it!

I'd say check your timing and make sure your linkage is working correctly.
