Title: Door and Cab Weatherstripping
Post by: crsmith56 on September 11, 2023, 06:18:40 PM
Hey all,

1985 C10. Installed new precision on-cab weatherstripping but I have been seeing that there is possibly an upper on-door weatherstrip that is set with screws. I cannot figure out for sure if that applies to my year or if it stopped being applied after a certain year.  Thanks

There is an ondoor strip on my '78, but I don't recall it being screwed on, I just remember using weather stripping contact cement.

My 85 did not have anything attacheched to the doors.  Just the door opening pinch weld area.

There was an upper door seal at was glued on all models but the 78-87 had a bolt.

Thanks for the Pic and Store Info on these. I thought about these for my 81 to get a better seal from air and water. Is this something you feel is good to use Captkaos? I know my truck did not come with these when new.

I personally never saw a great benefit to these which is probably why GM dropped them, the door to cab seal pretty much keeps all the water out.  When it rains, water will still enter the door gap as it doesn't surround the whole door.  It stops and the front curve above the vent window area.

The '73 has this weather stripping and they appeared to be glued on.
