They are not Vortec heads in the term of the popular aftermarket Vortec heads.
Those are 87-up 72 degree center bolt heads.  1.94/1.5 valves 64cc.  It is the GMPP equivalent to the factory L98 Iron head (14011083),  It was used on the 300hp/350 and 330/350 crate motors.  They were also used on HO marine motors.

The engine PN is a 1986-99 Gen I HD block.   Applications include the 330hp ZZ4 Crate motor block, so based on that info it sounds like the motor is a ZZ4 Crate engine.

Are you planning on putting these on the 406, if so they are WAY better than 305 heads.

The 6217 were used in a lot of Marine applications too
The exhaust valves were sodium filled and used a 3/8" stem instead of the standard 11/32"

I had to replace on of those sodium filled valves on a friends boat. $53 from the dealer....(for 1 valve)

captkaos i am not wanting them for my 406, i am building another 350 for a oval track truck i will use this block and rotating assembly, just not sure wich heads to use. my 305 heads i already have are pocket ported 194 valves instaled, good springs etc... i thaught if those were vortec heads they would be better. alsoo have solid cam 524 lift that goes with the 305 heads.guy i baught the 305 heads from said on 10.5 - 1 350 these heads and cam would make 400 hp ,dont know if i believe him though. wich way would you go

most 305 heads are good for boat anchoring. I'd go with the other ones.

Doesn't the ZZ4 have aluminum heads on it?

these ones are defenetly not aluminum.  looking at exaust ports and exaust valves the 305 heads are way bigger intake manifolds are on both motors so cant look at int valves.ville if i use other ones what do you recomend for a cam to make this thing rev dont need bottom end for oval racing

What size valves are in those heads? Can you measure them?

305 heads have 1.94-1.6somthing.  other heads i dont know i would have to take them off motor to measure 1.94-1.50 i would guese smaller than the 305 heads for sure. just measured valves on the 305 heads they are 1.94-1.6 little bit of porting done down in pocket by valves, now wich ones would be better

305 heads have poor flow qualities compared to a 350 head I would use the ones off the new block, they flow well with some port work.

why would anyone go through al of the expence of having bigger valves put in 305 heads if they are poor performers? these heads must have cost alot of money to modify, i got them with another motor so it doesnt matter to me, i will use the crate engine as is . is it posible that the 350 i have with 305 heads could make 400 hp? cam  is a solid  518-536 lift,278-288 dur, 10.5-1 comp, stock iron intake, quadrajet carb, headers, i dont believe it , but guy that biult engine swears its a good 400 hp

Because either someone was stupid and believed that all the power they could make would come from a smaller combustion chamber or they were just trying to improve the breathability of their junk heads. Nevertheless $ is better spent on better heads.

I really can't come up with a better answer than that...

If it is a ZZ4 motor, I would use the one in it.  What are your goals?

375 -400ish hp would be nice and should be posible with the rite cam. i got the crate engine in and running it runs real nice but more would be better.dont think it has much of a cam it idles real smooth at 800 rpm, wish i new a way to identifie exactly what i have seems it could be a few diferent motors rite from 285 hp -330 hp.it also looks like factory chrome valve covers on it deos that help?
