Have some questions, looking at a 1997 Diesel Donor, and am wondering about install Issues I will have with my '85 GMC K10.
K10- will have an SM465 with NP208, hydraulic clutch, NO A/C-would like, but maybe later, and I can custom mount everything-the truck does have the heater-so turbo location an issue?
'97 should be EFI, is it possible to keep EFI without too much difficulty? or should I just plan to convert to Mechanical Fuel Injection?
Throttle? get a cable or swap pedal?-kind of goes with EFI to MFI question
I am looking for the fastest/easiest/cheapest way, but Correct is probably top of the list

Is it Turbocharged? That is generally the issue if you have an AC box, but many people use a S-series AC boxes to get clearance.
The 6.5 from 1994 used a an electronicly controlled injections pump. I don't know that I would consider this Electronic injection.
I would run it as it if you can just get all the wiring from the donor.

Yes turbo, but no AC, so no worries there. Still trying to find a wiring diagram, trying to determine exactly what is needed to run the engine alone.

So getting close to doing fuel and brake Lines on the truck. What size fuel lines should I run? I forgot to check what size are used on the 6.5 motors

I'm just going to do 3/8" line, I'm not looking to make more power, and although I haven't found any info on the line size for the gmt400 trucks, many turbo the 6.2 with stock lines, which is still the 3/8" and they all flow fine

I ran my 76 6.5L with the DB2-4911 injection pump. There are several DB2 injection pumps that will do the job.
It's normally aspirated with Hummer tubular exhaust manifolds, dual exhaust and later model orifice tube AC with the 1997 HT6 compressor.
I believe you can keep your air conditioning if you use a Banks Sidewinder turbo setup. The other way to do AC and turbo is the GMT400 turbo and Vintage Air.

Banks setup will work with the factory AC.

Sorry to dig this up but I'm curious. Looking at a 6.2 with a 6.5 turbo, plus the 6.5. I'd like to ditch my TBI 454 and use the 6.2 or put the turbo back on the 6.5. I have factory AC and am curious if there's any way to keep it. Must I get the Banks kit?

You will need at least the passenger side Banks manifold, or you need to modify the AC box, some use an s-10 Box and fiberglass it to fit

1988-1998 GMT400 chassis... Yes.
Stock 1987-1991 RV series is the same as the 73-86 CK trucks. In the engine bay. Vintage Air builds their own custom replacement heater/AC box that's installed completely tucked up under the dash. Even the blower is re-located to inside the cab.

That's what I was thinking. My box is kinda shifted sideways but I was thinking they were all like that. I suppose I'll make an elbow or find the banks manifold.
