Hard to find ac lines
« on: February 10, 2018, 01:10:20 AM »
Hello everybody. I’m new to the forum here and just want to say I have found a ton of great info as I embark on my new project. I recently bought a 76 K20 with a 383/TH350. I have been fixing a few minor things to get it dependable to cruise around in. Any how, it is a factory AC truck that is missing much of the system. I had thought about either installing a vintage air kit, or just doing a complete overhaul on the factory system. I seem to have found everything I need except for two short lines that connect to the condenser. Can anyone point me in the right direction here. If I can find, or have these made it will be considerably cheaper than installing an aftermarket kit. Thanks for any input in advance.

Welcome from Kansas.

I don't know of any new sources for those, but haven't looked in a long time either.  Salvage yards would be one source and maybe eBay.

On one of my trucks, I made a couple of short hoses with the correct fittings to use in lieu of the factory hardlines. It's worked fine for over a decade now.

Thanks for the info, and for welcoming me. I’ll definitely check eBay, so far I have been unable to find anything in the local yards.

bring it to a company that services auto ac and have them make the hoses for you

I think that is going to be my only option. Im doing the serpentine belt conversion at the same time as I am replacing the whole ac system so I am figuring I will have to have the manifold lines custom made as well.
