Title: Tale of two male electrical connections
Post by: rla98 on September 05, 2021, 05:30:38 PM
Hi all,

I have a 1976 K-10 Stepside.

I am replacing the one piece taillights with the Individual brake and reverse lights, which are correct for this year.

I also ordered a new wiring harness. The old one is pretty crusty.

As you can see if I have two male connections. What am I missing?

Thanks, -R.

Try PT183 for the matching pigtail.

Thank you for your reply.
Any idea where I might purchace the pigtails?

I also do not understand why they are not compatible out of the box!!!

Your harness is for the square tail lights like the grote ones. You can buy pigtails online, parts stores can get them etc

The harness in the picture is a new American Auto wire harness for 1973-1976 Stepside.  :(

Okay, so how was your original harness terminated? Did it have the same pigtail as the new lamp?
