Thank you. The color is very vibrant in sunlight and dark in the shadows. I kinda dig it but I wouldn't have chosen this color for me. I put the bed on by myself using the lift and my motorcycle jack.

One SWEET Ride! Congrats on your hard work, looks showroom ready.

Did the interior go period correct or custom?

Thanks, I'm happy I'm able to get wrapping this one up. Stock interior with replacement carpet etc. It has a crappy Grant wheel on it still for now.

Thanks for the kind words. The truck was picked up yesterday and I got to watch it drive away. Bittersweet, and although I killed myself and robbed my trucks of the attention they seek, it was time for it to go home. Looks awesome, sounds awesome and has been spotted all over already. I'm willing to bet it either gets sold or destroyed lol, I cringe.  :'( I ordered wheels and tires for it yesterday so when I get them in, I'll mount and balance and put them on. It will look sick with the wheels and tires I ordered.

I initially welded it with silicon bronze, clamping it while moving around. I finished it with carbon steel ...

Really curious why you start with the silicon bronze?

I'm also curious. Do you use the SB because of it's lower melt temp to help position the patch?

No, I used it mainly because of the pinholes that were there after I sandblasted it. You get a better bond and fill vs the ole bzz, stop, bzz, stop, grind & repeat.

There's plenty of good information on using it. Just be careful if you do use it. Pay attention to your settings as you need to be more precise and use striaght Argon. If you don't have the correct feeder wheel, you will bird nest as well. U-groove instead of V groove.
