Thanks Villezombonie and Shifty!

I'm glad I went the plastic brick route. One side had had some damage and the proper clip would not work.

Now I have to make certain I won't pop the transmission cooler line again.

Waiting for paint to dry on the passenger vent window, worked on door interior panel.

On the lower part of the door, there are three slots for plastic brackets. I can't for the life of me get these danged brackets installed. It seems that the door, with all this paint, is to thick. Or maybe it's the angle. Before I go rogue and build some brackets like I did for the grille, does anybody have suggestions? I've looked through a dozen videos, seems it's easy for everybody else.

It appears the brackets are 77-80. Who knows, maybe the aftermarket doors match a different year.

Thanks for your suggestions. Even if you have a picture of your door with brackets up close that would be helpful.

Mark

Take your trusty hacksaw blade and make the groove a little deeper. I've found that aftermarket doors and aftermarket clips often have incompatible tolerances and require modifications. I reuse the originals whenever possible.

Thanks, I found that the slot stamps had extra ridges on some. I also got new square connectors instead of rectangular from classic industries. A little filling and they popped right in.

Both doors are now done! Passenger door works much better than drivers. Nice to drive today with windows in!

FYI I changed phones, can’t post pictures. I’ll figure it out eventually.

Great progress! Are you putting the side moldings back on?

Thanks all!

I’ve got door rain runner trim, but just the runner base that screws into the door, still need the chrome, back ordered and I haven’t had the time to search harder.

The one place I looked the cab trim that wraps the back is also on back order.

I’ve got runner boards to install next. If I’m lucky the pressure to take the 2” lift back to stock goes away. She just has to be able to get in the truck without a ladder. I like runner boards anyways.

The labels on the front fenders will be pretty much impossible to install with the original method of a nut in back.  Have to think about that more.

Use double sided 3M tape. It'll keep the paint safe and no holes to drill. Acetone is your friend on the back of the emblems.

Thanks, I’ll do that!  I am thinking about repainting the yellow to matching blue.

I will replace my springs, a 2” lift, with stock lift springs.

Recommendations on high quality suppliers?  I want to avoid the quality issues out there.

Thanks!

I was looking at Eaton Detroit springs.  Made in the USA.

They only have k10 springs.  And three load capacities for front and back.  If I used these springs, would the difference be that the truck isn’t 3/4 ton anymore, just 1/2 ton?  I don’t think I care. Will they fit?

I’ve got 2” rough country lifted in it now. I assume I need to replace the shocks too?
